We pride ourselves in our accuracy and efficiency – but just where do we get our course data from? And how do we ensure that it’s correct? Here’s the lowdown…
We acquire our data in two different ways depending on whether the universities are from the UK, Ireland, Europe or Worldwide.
UK & Irish Data
UCAS – Universities and Colleges Admissions Service – is well known as being the centralised service that students use to apply to university in the UK at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. But UCAS also operates a world class data division for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the UK and Ireland. Managing and updating PG data is now a core part of UCAS business and their course details are updated every night.
The course database that drives the course search for universities in the UK and Ireland on Postgrad.com is managed by UCAS, and we are very keen to maintain 100% accuracy. If you are a UK or Irish higher education institution and you find that one of your courses is missing or there is an inaccuracy of a course listing, follow the relevant three-step plan to ensure your details are updated within a maximum of 72 hours (although it often take less time that this!)
1) Contact UCAS using the details below, and copy us in too if you’d like to so we can help track your query.
2) UCAS will make the amend on their system.
3) Once the amend is live on UCAS system it will automatically be pulled through to our system within 24 hours of going live, and will then start showing on our websites
To make any changes to your institution’s data on the database – which covers the courses that appear under the course search, the allocation of courses to the institution’s various departments, and the institution/department’s contact details – please go to https://digital.ucas.com/search/dashboard. You will require your email address and password to update your data online. European & Worldwide Data
All data relating to courses outside of the UK and Ireland is held in house and we should be able to update it within one working day, so please contact us if you have any new course information that you want us to include. We are continuously increasing and developing our European and worldwide data set with the intention of holding a fully comprehensive courses listing. However, if you can’t find your listing or your details need updating please contact us as soon as possible so we can rectify this. We aim to respond to all enquiries and changes within 24 hours. To update your course listings as a European or Global university follow these three simple steps:
1) Email us straight away on information@postgradsolutions.com
2) The amend will be added to our system in house.
3) It will show live on our sites within 24 hours of being updated.
